Department/Unit Information The Division of Student Affairs houses more than 50 departments and programs that work together to provide Sac State students with comprehensive administrative services, academic support, and a vibrant campus life experience. The Student Affairs Business Operations Office supports the division’s operations by providing departments with assistance on a full range of fiscal and personnel actions and serving as a Liaison to campus offices such as Accounting, Human Resources, Information Resources and Technology, and Procurement. Specific Position Summary Under the direction of the Director for Student Affairs Business Operations (DBO), the Student Affairs Business Coordinator (SABC) works with the DBO and analysts within the Student Affairs Business Operations Office to support personnel and financial processes. The SABC is responsible for accurately tracking critical business information including the division’s agreements, contracts, and policies. Work also includes assisting analysts with the personnel and recruiting processes and scheduling interviews and other meetings. The SABC participates as a member of the division’s Business Team in support of the strategic goals of the Division of Student Affairs and its departments. FLSA Non-Exempt This position is covered by health benefits, and is non-exempt, (eligible for overtime compensation) according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.Classification Salary Range Salary Grade/Range 2 Step N/A Is this position Hourly or Intermittent? No Regular or Temporary Regular Full Time or Part Time Full Time Pay Plan 12 Work Hours Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; Summer Hours: 7:30 am - 4 pm. Minimum Qualifications Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite. These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience. Required Qualifications Experience: 1. Experience providing administrative support in a confidential office setting. 2. Experience providing a broad range of customer service. 3. Experience working independently as well as part of a team to ensure all matters are in accordance with set policies and procedures 4. Experience in the use of computers, common office equipment (fax, copier, printer, multi-line phone, scanner, etc.), and software systems including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and internet browsers 5. Experience working with diverse populations. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 6. Ability to handle multiple work priorities and accountability for own work results. 7. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide range of policies and procedures related to the program area. 8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group. 9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 10. Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner amidst competing and shifting priorities. 11. Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure. Conditions of Employment: - Ability to pass a background check. Preferred Qualifications 12. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Behavioral Organization or related field 13. Experience in an academic environment. 14. Working knowledge of CSU Executive Orders and University policies. 15. Working knowledge of general Human Resources employment policies, procedures and practices. 16. Experience using PeopleSoft and other Applicant Tracking Systems (i.e., CMS/HR, PeopleAdmin, etc.). 17. Experience with recruitment processes and processing personnel transactions.
