Part time Accounting Admin-Clerical

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Office Accounting Clerk position is to record financial information such as income and expenses, reconcile bank statements, process invoices

• Post Journal entries
• Reconcile GL accounts
• Verify and balance receipts
• Reconcile purchase orders, post invoices to A/P
• Issue checks for Accounts Payable vendors
• Maintain accurate detailing of expense accounts
• Prepare and close payables, daily sales for posting to GL
• Prorates expenses to be debited or credits to each department for cost accounting records
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Skills and Qualifications:
• High school degree, some college preferred. Possesses a vast knowledge of accounting or have attended relevant accounting courses along with a willingness to learn
• Skills and Knowledge: Experience in a retail environment either in accounting, bookkeeping, or back office
• Excellent quantitative and computer skills. Analytical and mathematical knowledge with the ability to make sound decisions
• Knowledge of computer systems, MS Word, Excel, QuickBooks or other spreadsheet software with an ongoing willingness to learn a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, journals, procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to operate a personal computer
• Ability to concentrate for long periods of time while maintaining accuracy
• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
• Frequently go between sitting and standing positions
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
• Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Rate of Pay

$15.00-$18.00 to start depending on experience/qualifications
