We are looking for an experienced Habitat Restoration Designer to join our team in our Sacramento office.
The Habitat Restoration Designer is a critical team member producing designs and construction drawings for habitat restoration projects including seasonal and tidal wetlands, floodplains, and species specific habitats. The designer is also responsible for collecting field data on topography, hydrology, soils and ecological conditions on site and reference sites to help inform the design through science. As part of the design group the designer will also work with staff in entitlement, land management, ecology, and land stewardship to understand the design requirements to address entitlement, permitting, construction, and long term management and monitoring, as well as oversee construction.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Design habitat restoration projects including wetland, riparian, and species specific habitats informed by ecology, hydrology, soils and geomorphological constraints.
-Produce and contribute to concept plans through construction document preparation.
-Provide construction oversight for restoration projects.
-Work on project budgets and schedules.
-Prepare meeting notes for project design parameters.
-Prepare for and conduct field visits to collect site data, including soils, topography and vegetation mapping.
-Work on projects in teams or independently to meet goals & objectives.
-Work with land reconnaissance team to analyze restoration construction potential.
-Serve as Project Manager and/or design lead for restoration design projects.
