Full-Time Bookkeeper 

LPAS Architecture + Design, is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary Architectural and Interior Design firm.  For over 45 years, we have focused on how buildings affect people’s lives, and we are looking for a motivated and talented Bookkeeper to join our accounting team in our Sacramento office.   

This position will help ensure that the Company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. You will maintain vendor records, insurance certificates, review employee timesheets, and process full cycle accounts payable, credit cards, accounts receivable, collections, and employee expenses.  You will be utilizing Deltek Ajera accounting/project management software and Microsoft Excel to run reports and process transactions, such as AP/AR, disbursements, and 1099s.  

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Process consultant and vendor invoices, verify compliance with organizational polices and contract payment terms; maintain accurate documentation/substantiation of transactions 
  • Categorize expenses, verify, and pay invoices; receive and post receipts; reconcile balances and maintain records within financial systems and other platforms
  • Assist with new project set-up and perform regular database housekeeping and cleanup to ensure continued data integrity
  • Monitor and request certificates of insurance and W9 forms from subconsultants
  • Follow up on delinquent receivables, and research and resolve concerns or discrepancies
  • Process accounts payable and expense reports accurately and promptly
  • Manage the employee timekeeping compliance and review process
  • Support Assistant Controller, Controller, and HR Director with additional accounting responsibilities, as needed
  • Ensure ongoing monthly deadlines are met, so as to support smooth functioning of the monthly revenue and expense cycles
  • Suggest process improvements when the need becomes evident

Candidates must have:

  • Verifiable bookkeeping and/or administrative skills/education
  • Experience with accrual accounting concepts, whether in practice, or in an academic setting
  • Basic knowledge of financial accounting principles
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • A self-effective attitude and a the desire for continuous improvement & professional development; A desire to understand the "why"
  • Proficiency in Excel and Office365 Suite is required
  • The ideal candidate will be familiar with payroll platforms such as ADP or Paychex, as well as basic knowledge of CA wage & hour laws 
  • LPAS will consider hiring candidates with no prior experience, if they are pursuing a degree in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance or similar

The salary range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00 per hour.  If you are hired, your base salary is based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.
