The Golden Empire Council, Scouting America, is a nonprofit youth organization serving families across Northern California. We provide leadership development and outdoor experiences that help young people grow into responsible, engaged citizens.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Marketing Intern to support our council’s communications and outreach efforts. This role is ideal for a marketing or communications student interested in applying classroom knowledge to a real-world nonprofit setting.
Responsibilities
Develop and schedule social media content across multiple platforms
Design promotional materials and digital assets using Canva or similar tools
Support event marketing efforts through online promotion and outreach
Track engagement metrics and identify opportunities to improve visibility
Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent messaging and branding
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a marketing, communications, or related business program
Strong writing and communication skills
Experience with Canva or other design platforms preferred
Detail-oriented, reliable, and creative
Interest in nonprofit work a plus

Unpaid internship with flexible hours
Work can be completed remotely or in-person at the council office (Sacramento area)
