Marketing Intern – Golden Empire Council, Scouting America 
Unpaid Internship | Flexible Schedule | Sacramento, CA or Remote 

About the Organization 
The Golden Empire Council, Scouting America, is a nonprofit youth organization serving families across Northern California. We provide leadership development and outdoor experiences that help young people grow into responsible, engaged citizens. 

Position Overview 
We are seeking a Marketing Intern to support our council’s communications and outreach efforts. This role is ideal for a marketing or communications student interested in applying classroom knowledge to a real-world nonprofit setting. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and schedule social media content across multiple platforms 

  • Design promotional materials and digital assets using Canva or similar tools 

  • Support event marketing efforts through online promotion and outreach 

  • Track engagement metrics and identify opportunities to improve visibility 

  • Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent messaging and branding 

Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in a marketing, communications, or related business program 

  • Strong writing and communication skills 

  • Experience with Canva or other design platforms preferred 

  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and creative 

  • Interest in nonprofit work a plus

  • Unpaid internship with flexible hours

  • Work can be completed remotely or in-person at the council office (Sacramento area) 

  • Ideal for students seeking hands-on marketing experience, portfolio content, and professional references 

  • Internship start date on or around January 26, 2026. Internship end date on or around May 29, 2026
