Internship Opportunity – California Black Chamber of Commerce (CBCC)
The California Black Chamber of Commerce is seeking a motivated and creative college student from California State University, Sacramento (Sac State) to serve as a Social Media & Digital Communications Intern. This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, marketing, community engagement, and event promotion while supporting statewide small business advocacy and economic development initiatives.

Internship Overview
The Social Media & Digital Communications Intern will assist the California Black Chamber of Commerce with maintaining and growing its digital presence across multiple social media platforms. The intern will help create engaging content, promote events and programs, support community outreach efforts, and assist with branding and marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities
The intern will assist with:
- Managing and updating CBCC social media platforms, including
- Instagram
- Facebook
- LinkedIn
- X (Twitter)
- YouTube
- CBCC website (GrowthZone)
- Creating and scheduling:
- Social media posts
- Flyers and promotional graphics
- Event announcements
- Short-form video content
- Community engagement posts
- Promoting:
- Workshops
- Business summits
- Networking mixers
- Economic development programs
- Community events
- Assisting with:
- Photography and video content during events
- Writing captions and marketing copy
- Social media analytics and reporting
- Email marketing campaigns
- Website updates (if needed)
- Helping maintain a consistent brand image and voice across all platforms.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates should:
- Be currently enrolled at Sacramento State
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be familiar with major social media platforms
- Have basic graphic design experience using tools such as:
- Canva
- Adobe Express
- CapCut
- Photoshop (preferred but not required)
- Be organized, dependable, and able to meet deadlines
- Have an interest in community engagement, small business development, and nonprofit work
- Possess basic photography or video editing skills (preferred)
