Job Summary
Stanfield Systems is supporting the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) on the CA-MMIS (California Medicaid Management Information System) program and is expanding our Business Operations team with entry-level Business Analysts. This growth is tied to anticipated program changes, including the onboarding of populations affected by recent federal shifts in healthcare coverage eligibility, which is expected to increase enrollment and case volume across DHCS systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience supporting a large-scale state healthcare program, working alongside senior analysts and DHCS stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Support business operations functions for the CA-MMIS program, including documentation, reporting, and process tracking
• Assist in analyzing eligibility, enrollment, and claims-related data as coverage populations shift
• Draft clear, accurate written materials — including business requirements, process documentation, correspondence, and status reports
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and DHCS stakeholders, both written and verbal
• Track and document detailed operational processes with strong attention to detail
• Support onboarding/transition efforts as new populations are integrated into program systems
• Assist senior Business Analysts with ad hoc research, data compilation, and reporting requests
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and state data-handling requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business, or Communications (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
• No prior professional experience required — entry-level position
• Strong written communication skills; comfortable drafting clear, professional documents
• Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong verbal communication skills for cross-team and stakeholder interaction
• Ability to learn new systems and government/healthcare program processes quickly
• Local candidates preferred (California-based)
• Interest in public sector / healthcare policy work a plus, not required
Why This Role
• Direct exposure to a major state healthcare information system (CA-MMIS) and DHCS operations
• Entry point into public-sector healthcare/government contracting work
• Mentorship from experienced Business Analysts on a large, established contract vehicle
• Potential for growth into higher-level Analyst roles as program needs expand
We’re a project‑based company with 26+ years in the Sacramento region, and when we talk with candidates, we’re really evaluating them for the Stanfield team first — not just a single contract. Our people stay with us long‑term and move across multiple internal projects, so we look for those who want stability, growth, and a local team they can actually be part of.
